All purchases from Jo ‘n’ Fred Designs, whether or not made by us, are subject to the following terms and conditions.

The contents of this website are under copyright. However, you may print, download or otherwise store a copy of this page for your records.

Bespoke Items

All items from customised collections (that is, not from stock) are made to order to your specification. If you have any particular requirement these must be made clear at the time of ordering.

I offer an individual service and I would always prefer to meet the client at my home (Sleaford, Lincolnshire) where I have all my samples and materials to hand, appointments are generally available week days, week nights and also on a weekend. I will also come to your home if possible for me to do so. This I appreciate has geographical restrictions so the alternative is for me to undertake a consultation preferably by phone so that I can fully understand your requirements. I am however happy to work via email. You can order an exact replica of something you have seen on the site, an adapted version, or a new piece. There is no obligation with a consultation.

After a telephone or email consultation where an order is made a 50% deposit will be required. When the order is ready to be dispatched the remainder of the balance is then payable, once cleared the item will be sent. For face to face orders, a 50% deposit is still required and full payment on collection.

Adapting designs

Here is a list of some of the changes you can make:

Mounts - circular tiara band for hair up, alice band to wear on an angle for tiaras with short hair or hair down, alice bands to wear concealed, combs, clips etc…

Asymmetrical designs will always be made to wear at the side of a parting as this is the most flattering and best covers the slim band.

Beads - Crystals, clear or rainbow coated, coloured crystals, glass beads, real pearls, faux pearls, crystal pearls, fresh water pearls, coloured pearls etc…. the choice is yours

Integrating your own materials such as grandma's old crystal necklace or string of pearls is something we are very happy to do.

Different colours, shorter, taller, wider, flatter, heavier, daintier, the choice is yours.

All changes will be subject to an minimum charge of £10. This will then increase depending on extent of changes made. Any extra charges will be given duing the consultation stage.

Will you copy a design I've seen?

No, this would be against the original designers' copyright and would be both unethical and illegal. If you have a specific idea in mind this can be used as a source of inspiration but no copies of other people's work will be undertaken.

Delivery

From Stock items are usually delivered within 7 to 10 days of receiving your order.

All other pieces are made to order; please allow a minimum of 4 -6 weeks for delivery. If you require your jewellery by a particular date, such as a wedding, please ensure that this is specified at the time of ordering.

While every effort will be made to meet delivery requirements, these can not be guaranteed unless agreed in advance. If in any doubt please contact us before ordering. I prefer a bride to have her headdress at least 2 months before the wedding if possible to permit for hair practices and trying with the dress.

If items are to be posted we will endever to ensure all items are packed with the greatest of care and sent recorded delivery delivery with Royal Mail.

Returns procedure

We want you to be happy with your purchases. If you are unhappy or the goods you have received are faulty, simply return them to us within 14 days of delivery, unused in its original packaging, for a refund or exchange.

To cancel, please e-mail us or write to us (see contact us for details) within this time quoting your order number.

Goods must be returned unused and preferably in their original packaging. Reasonable care must be taken to ensure the items safe return.

Bespoke designs and personalised stationery are excluded from our refund policy as they are made just for you. If you are unhappy with these items we will do all we can to help and will make alterations and adjustments. All deposits are non-refundable. For hygiene reasons earrings cannot be returned unless they are faulty.

Distance Selling Regulations

Under the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000, you have the right to cancel your order for any item purchased for a full refund within 7 days of receipt. However, we will accept cancellations up to 14 days from receipt. Items made to your specification are excluded from these regulations.

Once the design sketch has been approved by you and you confirm you wish to proceed with the order an immediate deposit of 50% of the cost will need to be paid. The full balance must be paid once the design is ready and you have approved it.

Cancellation of Bespoke Orders – In the event of cancellation deposits are non-refundable. The confirmation of order is a legally binding contract; however we will not ask you to pay the remainder of the balance.

Suitability for children

Please note that many items of jewellery include small beads and are therefore not suitable for children under 3 years old.

Privacy

Any information that you supply via any part of this web site may be held in electronic or other form solely for the purpose of supplying the service and products that you have bought.

Information will not be shared with any other body for any purpose.

We may send emails updating you on special offers, new products or to inform you of events that we are attending to personal e-mail addresses. If you do not want to recieve this type of email then please indicate this a the time of contact.
